APPOINTMENT OF NEW AMBASSADORS AND HIGH COMMISSIONER OF MALAYSIA

Four (4) new Heads of Mission received their Letter of Credence from Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah in a ceremony on Tuesday, 2nd September 2014 at Istana Negara. The Heads of Mission are as follows:

YBhg. Dato’ Lim Kim Eng
High Commissioner-designate of Malaysia to New Zealand

YBhg. Dato’ Lim Kim Eng has served the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1983. Prior to her appointment as High Commissioner to New Zealand, she has held several key positions including as Ambassador of Malaysia to Vietnam from 2007 to 2011.Dato’ Lim also served as Undersecretary of Europe Division from 2011 and Deputy Director General of ASEAN from 1997 to 2000. She had also served at High Commission of Malaysia in Canberra, Australia from 1987 to 1990.

TYT Ambassador Rahimi Harun
Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to Brazil

TYT Ambassador Rahimi Harun has joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1988. He has been appointed as the Ambassador to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea from 2008 to 2011. He has held several key positions including Undersecretary of East Asia Division and as Undersecretary of South and Central Asia Division in 2011, Undersecretary of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV) and Oceania Division in 2007, as Undersecretary of South East Asia and Pacific (SEAP) Division from 2006 and as Minister Counselor, at the Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta, Indonesia from 2001. He has also served at the Malaysian Embassy in Brussels, Belgium from 1991 to 1995.

YBhg. Dato’ Saiful Azam Martinus Abdullah
Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Republic of Croatia

YBhg. Dato’ Saiful Azam Martinus Abdullah started his career as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer from 1992 and has served the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1996. Prior to this, he held the position as Undersecretary of Multilateral Security Division from 2013. He then served as Deputy Permanent Representative for Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations (UN) in New York, USA from 2010 to 2013. Dato’ Saiful also served as Consul General at the Consulate General of Malaysia in Frankfurt, Germany from 2007 to 2010 and as Minister Counselor, at the High Commission of Malaysia in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam from 2001 to 2005.

YBhg. Dato’ Roslan Tan Sri Abdul Rahman
Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Republic of Azerbaijan

YBhg. Dato’ Roslan Tan Sri Abdul Rahman joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1996. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was the Undersecretary of Finance and Account Division from 2010. Dato’ Roslan had also served as Consul General, Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou, People’s Republic of China from 2007 to 2010 and as Minister Counselor, at the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok, Thailand from 2005 to 2007.
